TD, I'm honored that you would use me as an example in that context. I like to think that I try to be fair.
Having said that, there are some posts I've made up here containing such barbs so as I truly regret having written them... in particular I've been unfair at times to Yaacov.
One theory I've come across regarding all of the disparate faiths present in this world, is that perhaps we're given a cultural heritage - each of us, and perhaps we're supposed to live up to that which our parents taught us. I know this flies in the face of Christian belief, and I'm struggling with that in this context.
Myself, being the son of an Adventist minister, I've finally come to grips with the baptism - that "sealing of faith" - underwent years ago. Today I've finally accepted that the Lord Jesus Christ is my master.
Believe me when I state that I've tried so many other masters - even mistresses!! Christ always shines through in my life at the critical points.
Now the walk of faith is taken gingerly, in military terms like a tenuous bridgehead which must be reinforced and expanded lest I return like a "dog to the vomit of his old ways."
No matter what the final truth is, I can't help but thinking that this is the "end game of history."
