I still have to crunch couple of numbers, maybe the statistics to design the trial are much more complex than what I thought for the mortality data. Nice finding on Otitis Media, quite interesting. Is it Xoma sponsored? Are authors related to Xoma? Probably is for chronic Otitis media with perforation and or timpanostomy tubes. Not for the common acute phases. Still a huge market. New improved pneumococus vaccine will thankfully decrease that market significantly ( expected decrease 50%, more for the chronic ones). It will most probably be a topical treatment directly to the local problem, i.e. the ears.
