I think you may be getting at it if the article about IBM is true. Intel today announced that they are going after System-On-A-Chip technology & further place Rambus onto it. IBM may feel threatened & is retaliating by backing off it's support for Rambus. If that is also true, Intel must have thought it out & determined it was well worth the gamble. Just late night speculation on my part. Unclewest is probably enjoying the night off, kicking back a few. Hopefully others more knowledgeable can speculate.
