Behind in the competition? I don't think so. Do you have any information to suggest that any of these batteries were made by a mass production method, and do you have any data that suggests they are even as good as the Valence battery? In journals I've read, the number of categories of items requiring more powerful, long-lasting, rechargeable batteries seems to be growing exponentially. Some of our recent posters seem to believe that ALL companies follow pre-determined limitations in their evolution to a larger successful entity which are defined by some business recipe. I don't believe that. Some companies at the threshold of newly emerging, desirable technologies seem to transcend one or more of the cycles that an unimaginative business person thinks is a necessary development step in that evolution.

I believe Valence is in the right place at the right time, and that its board has more than enough creativity and business acumen to carry it through to a gigantic success within a relatively short period of time.
