"...sinking into a reverie about the Good Old Days, when people respected God, and Country..." and Mary was queen and it was a capital offense to not be Christian, and... I'm sorry Neocon, but I really think you're wrong on this issue. There are many people who don't share the belief in the Christian God and it's wrong for any entity that is supported by their tax dollars to promote that belief. The fact that this was a (theoretically) spontaneous occurrence only ameliorates it to some degree. It was still, as I pointed out before, contrary to the speakers request for a moment of silence. As an isolated incident, this was simply disrespectful, but not necessarily a violation of anyone's rights. But to once again make the worship of the Christian God a sanctioned part of a publicly funded event is simply wrong. Kindly, -BLT
