I heard that NPEC management is considering spin off MetroPlus Communication Technology to NPEC shareholder and have an IPO for MetroPlus when its VOIP service is ready, just like ITDC is doing for its net2phone service. With support from Softbank, GE, AOL, and Netscape, some market letters estimate net2phone can have a market cap as high as $5 billion. If MetroPlus Communication have 10% of that kind of valuation, it is a cool $500 million. That will represent a huge return for current NPEC holders. Will call IR next week to confirm if NPEC is going to change its name or if there is a spin off plan under consideration.
