I guess this is it:
From WAVX board,,, according to WAVX president, the HAUP board featuring a less-then full-featured 1st generation WAVX chip("Emabssy I") is now available at CompUSA (*not the reason for CPU's stock price blip --- thatwas on press finally picking up on long-argued (on SI) takeover rumor of the ailing chain by Staples :)). A WAVX internal memo had been accessible on the WAVX site for a few hours before it "disappeared" (moved behind password protection). Link to this memo follows,,,
Note however:
1. The HAUP tuner board is the FIRST peripheral to include any (though limited) version of WAVX's EMBASSY chip,,,
2. That all parties agree its distribution will be "limited",,,
3. Not more than 1,000 people have WAVX "customer accounts",,,
4. That "content offerings" (chicken and egg) are quite limited at this time. Too limited to be compelling.
5. That, by the time the sails of WAVX cache the wind [sic], it's essential that the EMBASSY chip be ubiquitous --- through Amtel, Oki, SMSC (motherboards), for starters. Then, the "royalties" go to those guys,,, whoever brought the chip in, I believe,,, under some kind of hierarchical plan in case there are several EMBASSY chips in a PC! (Sprague's wet dream! :))
All of this must be weighed and considered before attributing any sort or long term revenue significance to any announcement HAUP might make in regard to its pioneer's position <arrows> or it's "royalty on each transaction made by WAVX customers making purchases through their EMBASSY accounts via HAUP's boards..." There might be three of them,,, so to speak! (A long way to the tornado.... :))
Incredulously, I am long WAVX; I remain proud of HAUP as a good, credible company that pays NY State taxes, even,,, I'd be happy long at $15 --- but short ANY stock that rises >100% on mis-understood Business Week pieces. (For more accurate tips, I've had better luck sticking to the Enquirer. :)) I've known too many journalists --- from both sides of the object/subject --- in my life to believe their capability of "steppoing into" realms such as this without tripping all over the banana peels, falling down elevator shafts and walking into walls. :))
As I posted before, I'm short (and remain so) since $22. My motivations for dilligence are deservedly "suspect," but the fact is the facts :))
OK, folks --- I write and post this on my new SONY "PictureBook" with a tiny form factor, a built-in camera and an RF modem in a PCMCIA slot (from a nude beach, or I would have posted a link to some of the first pics :))
Everybody have a happy long or short weekend. Don't be like me and carry this stupid dialectic to the beach. HAVE FUN!!!

To all,
Well as you have seen our product is in CompUSA, Stay tuned next week for more details. I thought I would relay a couple of key strategic points that I have said before and are key to this product launch.
The first is that we are very interested in your feedback on the product both good and bad. We have been so close to this for a few years that What we feel is obvious may not be at all. You can really help us by using the product and providing feedback. Please Email Wave at bluebird@wavesys.com with any comments. (This was our internal name for the haup project for Wave history buffs.) We have planned a staged distribution of the product so that we can learn from a small installed base first and then launch with other in the fall to a broader market.
