merely the latest in a stream of fiber news developments impacting directly on manhattan ...[ earlier releases on Metromedia, from whom FTGX leases dark fiber, and also on Williams]. yet... not a word from FTGX as to any benefits, direct or indirect. further, it's my understanding that they are not affiliated in any with the rudin group....the question is exactly with whom are they working ? North American Telecom Completes Manhattan Fiber Optic Network 05/26/1999 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Facilities-based competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) North American Telecommunications Corp. (Natelco; Westbury, NY) has finished its fiber optic network in Manhattan. This fiber optic ring links directly to the Westbury, NY digital switching facility. Natelco also announced their collocation at two Bell Atlantic facilities, West Street and Broad Street in Manhattan, opening up the entire Manhattan financial district to the company's integrated communications services. By September 1999, 80% of the businesses in Manhattan will have access to the products and services offered by the company.
