Sorry if I gave the impression I thought your question was stupid. I did not think it was.

I've spent a lot of time in IRC chatrooms helping people troubleshoot their computers' hardware and software. In the process I found the clearest way to give instructions is step-by-step, and never make any assumptions about what the other person does or does not understand concerning what I'm telling them.

That means that while trying to be straightforward and simple it comes across sometimes as condescending. Sorry about that, not my intention.

You are correct, there is no such thing as a stupid question. IMHO the only that that is 'stupid' is not asking.
