There are lots of possible reasons WIND's stock price has recovered, including it should never have gone down so much.

But I think the most intriguing to speculate about is the Liberate connection. From an asset point of view alone, the inevitable IPO can't hurt the balance sheet. From a strategic sense, WIND is in with all the major, major anti-Microsoft in crowd -- Oracle, Sun, AOL-Netscape. The battleground is no longer the Network Computer, but thinner post PC clients/appliances/set tops that can't use Windows and don't need CE.

Even if this anti-Microsoft contingent ends up being the MacIntosh of ubiquitous communications, the royalties to WIND may make I2O look like a petty cash account.
