Derek, I missed this post. I believe this is a short term answer for the next couple of years. They aren't going to have a 2-way modem until 1998,and also cable needs to upgrade to 2-way HFC before they need a mass deployment of 2- way cable modems. Derek I know what you mean the two worst monopolies which you are counting on to give you internet access,pretty scary. I was just reading somewhere that CIEN has a new DWDM fiber system that can increase the backbone by 40x. Wow maybe this will speed HFC upgrades and bring more bandwidth to my neighborhood. Tim
