online brokerage is probably the best internet business model. there was an article in The Motley Fool about that not long ago. i will post it here if i find it. i remember last year, when i saw people chasing YHOO and AMZN, and poor little EGRP (back then...) was sitting pretty all year stuck in a trading range. i LOVED the company and the stock back then, and i couldn't believe why it was stuck in a range unable to breakout from it while AMZN and YHOO were flying and stealing the show, so i traded in & out of it, because it was in a range! at one point i had more than 40,000 shares of EGRP... then, all of a sudden, people finally began to discover this GEM. i still think EGRP is really a gem, with amazing potential, probably the BEST internet stock out there. to me, it looks like a DELL in its early hyper-growth stages, stealing business with its superior business model from the Compaqs and IBMs, who had a conflict with their channel. well, EGRP is stealing business from the Merrills and Paine Webbers, it's a small company now still, but it will become huge. |
