We don't have neat little bookshops, we do have a slew of the chain ones. I am fond of Border's, it has a lot of off-the-wall stuff, like an old style bookshop but much bigger. the kids and I sometimes spend a couple of hours reading. I like their chai.
As for the cafes, Madam, name your cuisine! Oh, wait, you're vegetarian. That is hard to find around here, unless you like Indian or Chinese vegetarian. You can get very good bread at Marvelous Market, and Sutton Place Gourmet and Gourmet Giant have some nice prepared foods, and then there's Whole Foods.
I do sometimes drive into Georgetown and go to Dean & Deluca's, they do a great mixed roast vegetable.
Double wait. I've read some of your posts on the Foodie thread, I want to come eat where you eat, you make it sound so delicious it's worth a trip.
There was a vegetarian restaurant in New Orleans that made the best salad dressing. I want some of that salad dressing so bad. Tamari, oil, vinegar, herbs, but what?!? What?!? Your posts about the dessert that you can't find any more reminds me of the way I feel about that salad dressing. |
