Eric, I am unaware of any new joint development sites in CA. I think it is common knowledge that IBM is working on Java to a greater degree than Sun is. I think IBM is a good partner, they will help ensure a Java standard is kept alive and in use. It's vast consulting army should help make that happen.
Software revs have to pick up in years to come, hardware sales really depend on the software choices.
I know we've been down the "IBM to buy Sun" road before, but I think if both companies made some sacrifices and merged, they could really be a super power. -- But lets not dwell on that, there's enough other long winded hypothetical args to go around...
