Hi Bob, long time since we communicated. Relative to the question of elimination of threads with low activities. There are a number of unclear points of "procedure".

Who petitions SI for such elimination, anyone, or the thread "founder" only?

Can it be done to reduce "competition" to a leading thread on the same subject?

Is there a time of "inactivity" required to eliminate a low activity?

Are there sometimes issues of "muzzling" involved and how do you handle these?

SI threads often have "ardent" bulls and "ardent" bears arguing various points, elimination of now "silent" thread that had important information may impede reaccessing this information. There might even be issues relating to the first Amendment, but this being a "voluntary" medium, I do not know if and how these apply, I am sure you people have considered such implications, and if you have anything that could enlighten me on this subject, I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Zeev
