Pallisard;

If you read post #11545 you will see that indirectly, I make the same point. Laptop OEMs have plenty of problems with known and reliable suppliers and sub contractors. They don't need to take on more problems with something unknown even when they think it may be worthwhile innovation. Who needs a recall or possible battery problems when there is no need to take the risk? I believe, that Apple had a battery problem for one of its laptops some years ago and it was a mess. That was a nic-cad from a reliable vendor too. They had to offer a free exchange. It cost them millions and a lot of aggravated customers. If your computer isn't reliable, for whatever reason, your in deep shit and you better do something quick or else, you will lose your market. Years of work and millions of dollars. No OEM can afford that kind of loss. The competition is too keen.
