No sweat! Gerstner has said the 'PC is dead', but he has also said that IBM will remain in the PC business for some time to come, and that they will make some money at it. They have improved from last year, where their PC division lost almost 1 B. Last quarter's loss was I believe just under 50 million, which is a huge improvement, but still a loss. Gerstner has proven to be a pretty sharp cookie and I think the PC division will be making money soon, or else... In either case, you comment on where IBM is making the bucks is correct. If they continue to turn it around in the PC biz, it will be icing on the cake. There has been a bunch of talk on the Dell thread about IBM buying out Dell, in my opinion there is no way in hell Gerstner will shell out way north of 100B for that boxmaker to get a quick direct capability. If IBM wanted that, they could buy Gateway for way less...

Regards,
John
