No I meant exactly what I said. The narrow data bath allows designers to use a separate bus/memory for each buffer, preventing any contention. The multibank architecture is useful for minimizing latency within each buffer, but SDRAM offers the same advantage.

The big advantage of DRDRAM for graphics, is that the narrow data path makes it economical to design several memory buses on the same card.
