RACING AGAINST A KILLER. (a girl contracts cerebrospinal meningitis)(includes related article on meningococcemia)(Abstract) Penny Fadler.
Abstract: A four year old contracts a rare infection, meningococcemia, and has to have an arm and leg amputated. The family and the child have to find ways to cope with the aftermath of the illness.<<<<<<<<<
Now explain to me how the general public stays calm and cool AND makes any kind of rational decision while they go through an "endless" jargon filled COMPLETE informed consent WHILE their kid is G 8 or more. And when I say jargon I mean both medical and legalese. I just don't see how a quickie synopsis is complete informed consent. No way. So why have someone that is medical and legal clueless making decisions in life and death situations like Meningo. G 8 or more? First thing any Plantiff will tell you is they didn't understand the informed consent. Does that mean informed consent didn't work for only people with a bad outcome that decided to sue? Let's keep in mind some vaccinations are MANDATORY for kids to be able to attend school. Is that allowing BIG PHARMAS to pump drugs into kids without the parent's approval? Does FDA approval make you feel any better if YOUR kid dies from a mandatory vaccine? ARE some of these vaccines as safe as investigational drugs like BPI? Please don't respond with there is no better way or say that I am suggesting something as having Biotechs pumping drugs into kids without parent's permission. Gotta be a better way.
