Kinda slow on a holiday weekend so I thought I'd ask about something that's been bugging me for some time now. Look at the long-term S&P 500 chart on stockcharts.com. See how the market shifted into overdrive at the start of 1995? My question is "Why?" Can anyone remember the specific event or change that caused this new, steeper uptrend? I'm doing some research into the question today but thought I start by gathering theories from "the experts."
