Hi Ron,

At the risk of stepping into controversy, perhaps there are Jews, and there are "Jews." Normal Jews tend to be the poorer ones - the ones who always seem to get mistreated.

Then there are rich "Jews" but these people are jewish in name only, and seem to go forth with the most oppressive, idiotic policies where everyone else is concerned.

This is why on the one hand you can hear of how badly Jews were treated in Russia, and here on the other hand that "Jews" are responsible for communism.

That's why I think it's a critical mistake for anyone to lump all of them together. Admittedly this is simplistic but it does explain why you hear about Jews and "Jews" as oppressed and oppressor, respectively.

Perhaps in originally choosing those people Yahweh gave them a greater ability for good - or evil, than any other group. That's why some Jews rise to such heights in human achievement, and some "Jews" are such scoundrels... another simplistic theory I guess but...

It seems to me that gentiles often make the mistake of thinking Jews are looking down their noses at them. I think it's closer to the truth to state that Jews feel a tremendous sense of responsibility and burden at being the chosen.

Of course then Jesus came along and then the controversy really started, no?

There's a Messianic Synagogue by my house.. I think I'll go there.... gentiles are welcome. I love that "klezmer" music and it seems so rare at many gentile churches of Jesus.

FWIW
Andy
