KZ, Actually a great place to have more bandwidth is in a big transaction processing server where you're switching tasks very frequently and having lots of cache flushes. Only problem is that no one is using rambus in these servers because the total memory is huge and drdram doesn't scale well to massive memory size. Too bad! That's true, and there are other special purpose applications which can benefit from high bandwidth memory- like soft DVD. However, DSDRAM will provide similar bandwidth to DRDRAM, and will likely be less problematic to put on a motherboard. DRDRAM is best suited for applications which need a narrow datapath. Scumbria
