Yes, there certainly has been a spate of positive reports from the
"statin" front. Unfortunately, Cholestrak differs from HP Chek in that
no physician will ever prescribe a cholesterol-lowering agent based
upon the results of a Cholestrak test. A patient's lipid profile is
comprised of many factors, total serum cholesterol being only one.
Cholestrak remains a screening test, and it's future lies with the
general consumer market. Cholestrak would do better to ally with a
"soft" pharmaceutical, i.e. alternative or herbal medicine. These
alternative therapies are now prominently displayed in such major
venues as Wal-Mart. The consumer who purchases these therapies is also
likely to use home test kits. This, I believe, is a symptom of a
growing dissatisfaction with the traditional medical environment.
Chemtrak's expanding line of home test kits is an excellent response to
these sentiments. Although, I would like to point out that theory is
one thing, execution another.

I have been following CMTR and the Chemtrak thread for nearly 5 months,
but this is my first posting.
