Hi Alexa,

Finally managed to allocate some time to read tonight. I'm not familiar with all the well known poets of our age or any other for that matter; hence my profile reveals nothing because it would only reveal my lack of higher education. My world is pick and shovel. My favorite poets are musicians.

Really, really enjoying this thread. I am very happy that it is taking off and hope it will continue to be a success. Some of the writing is excellant.

Here is a piece I wrote some years ago which I am especially fond of:

Writer's Cramp

I've read them all before
But my mind keeps wanting more
So my hand brings me along
To create another thought

My eyes stare at the blankness
As the paper before me lays
Once the idea comes to me
It leaves my hand behind

So many thought sensational,
So many scenes be seen,
So many the times I missed them
Only the blankness here remains

Why the mind waits not the hand
Is lost in thought to understand
A mirror's reflection on a canvas white
Never stained through forgotten plight

Like the fuel and flame
One stops to watch the other blaze
But when no more is found to burn
Slowly dark the light has turned.
