David, That is because the link charts show volume and not open interest. However, without the Barron's values, which I do not seem to be able to reproduce with CBOE stats, I cannot say whether we are truly at an extreme point. I DO know that before I got lazy and started using Barron's figures, I would add OEX, SPX etc OI put figures together to get the denominator and then use the equity call total for the numerator. Doing that NOW yields figures even exceeding the 40x1 I first posted!!! Bill
