Looking at this week-end's adds, 3dfx was in both the Best Buy (V2 1000) add and the CompUSA add (V3 3000). I went to my local Best Buy to get a printer with my mother-in-law and noted that there was very little shelf space for the Viper 770 (below eye level and some boards there). V3 and V2 from 3dfx had a whole column from top to bottom. The new Savage S4 card from Creative Labs had two rows full of boards and was selling for $130.

From what the sales staff told be, V3 continues to do well, but sales in the store as a whole have slowed down a little (like they always do when the weather is nice. Kansas gets pretty hot in the summer and sales poke up a bit since everyone is inside in air conditioning).

ps - nvidia has made decent money recently, but I didn't see many OEM wins for the TNT2 on volume models. I wonder how low the boardmakers pushed the prices for the OEM's, especially with Diamond really struggling and looking for more business.
