Who knows what you can buy over the net in 5-10 years, maybe a house, a jet, a baseball team? Good point. When net commerce explodes, many people will be overwhelmed by the choice. Here is where big trusted names begin to display their true worth. I know when my browser pops the window and asks "Trust stuff from Microsoft?", I don't mind hitting the 'Yes' button to proceed with the download. Can't say I'd be so willing to accept stuff from a place I've never heard of. Doubt the general public will respond much different, creating a huge advantage for established names.
