Handhelds Pick Up Steam

Worldwide handheld computer shipments are projected to exceed 5.7 million
units in 1999, a 46% increase over 3.9 million in 1998, according to a study
released last week by Dataquest. The market is projected to grow 30%
annually through 2003, when sales are projected to reach 21 million units. In
2003, the Palm OS from 3Com and Microsoft's Windows CE operating
system should account for 92% of the units sold, up from 67% in 1998.

===================

3COM will get lion share of this tremendous opportunity; just imagine the palm-net related revenue and advertising revenue stream for the number of units (by 2003 it'll be like 12 million+ units). It's very possible that 3COM will overpass CSCO by the year 2002+; remember when the high-speed freeways and highways are pretty much all built out, it's the cars that got sold again and again. 3COM is smart to be focusing in this area, pay some price now for the hugh windfall that will come in the near future; no-clue analysts basically have very little clue, and probably could not ses more than 3 months out; 3COM at this price is a trememdous bargain, all imo-
