Dave there are lots of good sites that explain in detail about meningitis and meningococcemia. As far as I know an antibiotic is just that and a vaccine is not made up of antibiotics but rather a part of the particular disease organism itself.

The press is as sloppy as many of us are in referring to a disease and it is almost impossible to know if they really meant spinal meningitis, which is not meningococcemia. At times a person will have both.

Be sure you check out all the links on the XOMA web site. It is IMO one of the best on the entire web. Puts some big Pharma sites to shame. Check out the glossary too.

When and how did you first hear about XOMA? Would appreciate your also sharing with us what made you decide to buy it. Thanks

I bought my first shares as a result of selling a put back in 94 or 95? The 1995 annual report issued in 1996 made a big impression on me. The story of Tashika, and her amazing recovery. I held off buying more as Sturza said there was nor reason to buy. But in 97 I began to build a position. Was this the thing to do? Obviously not. But I now like the company better than ever. We shall see if this opinion is justified or not. So, once again would really appreciate learning what caught your attention. Any lurkers out there that own XOMA that would care to post about your first purchase of XOMA?
