Since I have no idea what I may have written that occasioned such a response, I have no idea how to reply. But, as I said, the sort of person who cannot find a dimes worth of difference between the two parties is not likely to subscribe to these propositions. I know of no neoconservative interested in federalizing the public schools--- most of us support vouchers, and I personally would like to abolish the Department of Education. Similarly, we are for the abolition of quotas and set- asides, because we think that those kind of race conscious policies increase resentment. The president has always had a great deal of latitude in the use of force, although he is supposed to consult with the Congressional leadership except in situations of extreme emergency. Most of us would like to see a more robust application of the 10th amendment, although even Robert Bork has noted that the strict construction of the amendment is probably a dead letter. Anyway, I purported to be speaking for the mainstream, not Libertarians...
