Genie's direction now Genie on the Internet Front End Programs Genie's direction now. IDT is working on getting off of the GEIS network, whom originally had birthed this service. In addition to access with a browser via any PPP connection, they've coded ASCII and TTY access into the system, for those who require, or desire, any one form over another. This should allow any computer user with a modem to access Genie. The process is taking longer than expected, but they seem to be steadily applying themselves to the goal.
The current Front End Programs for the Genie on the GEIS network (GEIS/Genie) will cease to be useful once that service closes. But that date is not yet, so this reference remains.
