Expansion of Design Center and Marketing/Sales Organization
Reflect Continued Growth in the Region
Transwitch Corp announced today that it has expanded its design center and marketing/sales support group in the Far East and relocated the two organizations to a
new office in Taipei, Republic of China (Taiwan).
The design center, which originally opened its doors in June, 1996, has focused on the design of new generation SONET/SDH devices. In addition, the design center
provides technical support to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), a local foundry which manufactures a number of TranSwitch's VLSI devices,
to ensure that the design hand-off to TSMC progresses in a timely manner. The marketing/sales organization provides marketing and technical support to
TranSwitch's customers, distributors and representatives in Southeast Asia, including India.
According to Watson Coverdale, Director Asia-Pacific Sales, "TranSwitch's revenue from the region has continued to grow, and the expansion and relocation of the
design center and marketing/sales organization in Taipei reflect TranSwitch's strong commitment to its customers in that region."
