Therefore the question is which company has the best chance for
rapid revenue gain, earnings acceleration and therefore (still more of a hope than a promise) stock price appreciation over the next 3 to 5 years.

Completely valid, Chaz2, but incomplete; you've left out the risk factor of the selection equation. What I'm looking for is the best chance for growth in a stock with limited downside. This is why I try to ignore story stocks and aspiring Princes and focus on mature Kings and Silverbacks.

This is where concentration beats broad diversification

Agreed, but if you practice concentration, it is deadly to make even one bad choice. I learned that sad lesson with dell earlier this year. Again, a compelling argument for G&K's ONLY.

Easier to pick areas, fields, industries or technologies where rapid (even explosive) growth is occurring and then go with the leaders

Very wise advice, Chaz2. If you choose a fine company like dell in an out of favor sector like boxmakers, you stand a good chance of getting skinned and turned into a cheap leather belt.

You sure list a bunch of "favorite stocks" in your portfolio, Chaz2; are you truly a practitioner of concentration? Some of your earlier advice tended towards the market basket approach.
