CR Lum--- Interesting take on the situation. My humble thoughts are as follows... GLE would be an ideal immediate acquisition for any major. GLE will not be as attractive to these companies at 20,30,40 or 50 dollars. These companies are no different than you or I (buy low sell high...even though they would not be selling-I am sure they would want a bargain.) A good portion of the upside for SOFC development will be realized in the short term (and the majors want the upside as well). In Delphi's case, they have been spending a lot of time with GLE (as I understand the situation). Delphi can perform due diligence on GLE much more effectively than "Joe Investor" (you and I). Hence, Delphi knows exactly the potential upside involved in using SOFC technology in their product. I doubt a JV relationship would satisfy a major. Large companies usually like to purchase, protect and develop technology. This makes life easier for them in terms of patents, development direction, and actual applications of the technology. Too many JV partners have seperate goals and applications for their common holdings (in this case it would be the SOFC tech.) A major would prefer to eliminate GLE, and carry the SOFC forward under their own terms.

Who knows? Perhaps GLE will develop by itself...and yes, it would be nice to see it split 5 times! Best of luck to all who are long.
