Thomas, that post about shorter might fit any thread dealing with BB stocks and the like, where rampant manipulation (both by shorts and longs) is evident. In the case of HAUP, I think that the shorts a fortnight back noticed a dormant stock suddenly doubling, and assumed it was a fad and shorted the hell out of it. They may be right or they may be wrong, but I doubt they have nefarious motives other then find a way to cover if they are still on the short side, or optimize their gain if they came late to the party and were fortunate to short in the 30'. I personally think it was an accident, since prior to that fateful Friday, the stock was grossly undervalued, but could have stayed that way for long, simply because it was an unknown. The BW article gave it some exposure and as a result the run up to more traditional (in the current market) valuations have been established. If the market continues in its merry ways, these valuations may hold and the earning growth is going to cathc up making it again "undervalued", if the market tank, the short might even have an opportunity to make few bucks.
Good luck out there, and yes, I am still flat and would like to get back in at more "undervalued" valuations, if not, it is not the first time I am leaving a bunch on the table. (VBG).
