Jesse, This is excellent news for everyone, especially those interested in VON.

Check this out!

I thought that this excerpt might be of some interest to you and the group. It is excerpted from Computer Reseller News 5/20/96 an article by Barbara Barrows.

The Securities and Exchange Commission is conducting an informal inquiry into Camelot Corp., the parent company of ThirdPlanet Publishing.

Third Planet develops Digiphone--software that promises to enable people on the Internet to make calls without incurring long-distance charges. Such "Voice on the Net" offerings are hot now for those seeking an inexpensive way to converse.

The SEC reportedly is looking into trading trends of Camelot's stock. "If you've watched the stock, you'll see that the company [share price] is driven by press releases, and that's the bottom line," said one source who has watched Camelot carefully.

Officials at the SEC's district office in Fort Worth, Texas, would not comment. But in a letter obtained by CRN , a member of the enforcement staff there wrote that the informal inquiry was to determine whether there have been violations of certain provisions of the federal securities laws.

The SEC is not the only agency that has expressed an interest in Camelot. The San Francisco office of the Federal Trade Commission also has its feelers out. FTC officials there were similarly reticent, however, and would not comment.

However, a Digiphone user told CRN he had been contacted by that office and said it was looking into consumer complaints about the currently shipping Digiphone product.

It seems that other observers feel as though this stock is entirely HYPE driven. Also this article is one of several that I have that indicate the possibility of an SEC investigation. It certainly adds credence to the persistant reports!
