Flea,
Dr. Melissa Kirkley co-authored with Dr. John J. Gurney, a paper titled:
"Kimberlite Dyke Mining in South Africa"
published in Africa Geoscience Review, Vol. 3, No. 2, pp191-201, 1996

In brief, from paragraph three in the introduction..."Dykes maintain their size and grade with depth in contrast to diatremes"....the deepest workings are more than 600 meters below surface.....also, in this paper, group II kimberlite dykes at Bellsbank and the Star mine had reported average values of $200 to $250 per carat.....at Bellsbank, "most of the diamonds are colorless and 90% are gem quality.".....hmmmm.....I wonder if Kaiser would be utterly shocked by this?:-))

Looks like Winspear continues to only use the best diamond people available, world wide.....

regards,
teevee
