A major argument given by the those shorting were the toxic converts and the belief the compnay would not come through to dispense with them. Now they are gone and it was cheaper than anticipated and the terms for the $ funded were better than expected.... To wall st. it was a promise kept and thats important.... Given that there is about 6 1/2 million shorted shares and the disapearance of their best argument could it be that many will cover and along with buying on the news cause a stampede to the exits by the shorters? It will be interesting to see how this unfolds..... Can anyone report on ABT trading in Europe before we open?
