t2k, the us is pretty varied depending on the geographical location. I don't think its quite the same in Canada.... for example I live in SF bay area which is considered the most liberal area (along with maybe Boston and some east coast cities) and I agree mostly with you. One thing I do find odd is the number of fiercely conservative people on SI, especially since I think most high tech workers lean to the liberal side and are located on the west coast, you would think there would be more of us. I'll bet Seattle and Vancouver have pretty similar residents, political-viewpoint wise.
