Ausdauer, I'm thrilled if you want to get a thread going about digital photography. I/m not aware of any proprietary technologies in the field because I've not studied the technological aspects. My interest is two-fold. I am a serious travel photographer during the relatively few days of the year I do travel. Though most people think about the best possible excuse not to attend a slide show of someone's vacation, I'm proud that people actually ask when I'm going to show my slides, so much so that the number of people who attend make it necessary to show them on two evenings. I also have a small collection of 1900 - 1950 black-and-whites. The collection is miniscule but it's growing in direct proportion to the growth of my other portfolio, the one made of stocks. :) I don't buy them because of their investment value, but the sooner the world goes all-digital when it comes to photography, the more valuable my collection will become. Anyone wanna see a slide show? :) --Mike Buckley
