Craig - Re: "My son's words to a friend were "I know I'll get that PIII once Dad has his Copper-Thing." Then all I heard from his room was ... "Cool!"."

Sounds like you are becoming one of Intel's better customers.

Re: Anand & " Let me guess, he will say "except for this and possibly that, the K6 is ALMOST but not quite ..."

Anand seems to waffle a little bit. In his "earlier" days, he was pretty much an AMD proponent - but lately he seems quite neutral.

His initial K63 reviews from last December were quite favorable - in a few selected benchmarks, but AMD's disastrous record on delivery has made the K63 a "non-issue" CPU.

PS : Maybe your 10 year old should get the new "Copper-Thing" and Dad should keep the obsolete 450 MHz Pentium ///.
