The way advertising works. If they stop the commercials, public perception will be that they are in trouble. In general when adverts are run by a company, you don't go to the next higher level (word of mouth, newspaper, radio, tv, etc) until you have a budget that can sustain that level of advertising. People tend to notice the lack of vs the presence of... Just my thoughts. I'm not in the PR field, but was involved in promotion of a venture several years ago.
