I have kept an old account open at Oppenheimer for the purpose of purchasing my more obscure stocks. While pricey, I find that I can get filled quickly while others wait. Sometimes commissions do not matter. I have recently been trading in a few Canadian stocks and I should probably be engaged is the same search as you.

I will be very interested in seeing the NetZero financials when they file their S-1. Given the economics of the U.S. ISPs, particularly the access charges they incur, I find it difficult to believe that a free ISP can generate sufficient advertising revenues to become profitable. The more traditional U.S. ISPs are still struggling to become EBITDA positive. This sector has been battered and the valuations have come down considerably. Check out this analysis:

I am even more interested in seeing the XSNI financials. If the numbers are what we think they are, particularly the number of shares outstanding, their subscribers are being valued at about $350 each. I have continued to add to my position on dips. Any hard positive news on the numbers side could send XSNI through the roof. You have done a magnificent job in keeping the XSNI thread active and focused.

Now for a shameless plug. You may want to check out Technovision, a Canadian ISP traded on the VSE. The symbol is TVS. They have approximately 31,000 subscribers and are solidly profitable. Their subscribers are being valued at approximately $500 each. They have recently done a private placement and are acquiring other ISPs. They would be a perfect candidate to be acquired themselves. I stumbled across this one after almost tripling my money in three weeks in another VSE listed Canadian ISP named Internet Direct (IDX). On the downside, the company appear to be doing very little to publicize their story. I may be mistaken, but it appears that they distribute their press releases by simply posting them on their web site. You have to admire a management that only focuses on building the business, but a little pump would be appreciated. LOL. The TVS thread can be found at:
