Pro Line Now Features PowerPC G3 Processors Running Up to 450MHz

CUPERTINO, Calif., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Apple Computer, Inc.
(Nasdaq: AAPL) today cranked up the speed of its highly successful
Power Macintosh(R) G3 computers, which now feature the fastest PowerPC
G3 microprocessors yet -- running at 350MHz, 400MHz, and 450MHz. In
addition, the Power Macintosh G3 line now includes Mac(R) OS 8.6, the
latest version of the Macintosh(R) operating system. Pricing remains
unchanged, starting at an aggressive estimated retail price (ERP) of
U.S. $1,599.

"The latest PowerPC G3 processors deliver a speed increase of up to 23
percent, making the Power Macintosh G3 an even more powerful tool for
creative professionals," said Phil Schiller, Apple's vice president of
Worldwide Product Marketing. "With its blazing speed, built-in
FireWire, outstanding 3D graphics and the industry's most innovative
industrial design, the Power Macintosh G3 line is simply the best

 The new Power Macintosh G3s are available immediately via The
Apple Store -- (www.apple.com) and Apple Authorized Resellers, with
over ten thousand build-to-order (BTO) configurations. The following
