I thought some more about the net banks this weekend and the more I think about it the more similarities there are between e-commerce and brick and mortar retailing. If you look at netbank's interest rates and services they are much better than a traditional bank. Even if traditional banks want to close branches they can't, local governments try to block it, so they are actually worse off than the b&n's of the world. Ok a bank is a bank but a book is also a book. Actually banks can differentiate themselves more easily than a bookseller, with interest rates and a netbank is also a portal to the homeloan sites. Anyway ntbk is up today, and I thought I'd mention this one more time.
