B.,

A Long term trend starts out as a small counter trend. I see APPL as a powerhouse in the NeXT Tech cycle. Yes the 90's belonged to the Wintel set up but I see the next Tech move going towards the RISC & Open Internet based platforms. Apple's problems is not technology but management.

I position for Long term moves but since timing of the entry can off, it does seem that I am a short Timer. My first attempt as you recall was the 23 double bottom. I was long at 28 and you correctly where bearish. I stepped aside with the 23 floor was being broken.( Confirmed)Went from feeling fat & happy to poor & stupid.

(six months later)

The next attempt is the 16 double bottom. I do not think it has broken. The one day move below 16 was rejected successfully (so far) Because we have not confirmed the bottom I still am using JAN 98 20 LEAPS

Confirmations occur when the extreme of the price swing gets taken out. In this case a confirmation of either direction will come at by trading at 15 or 18. How much or you paying for a straddle?
