Are all you telecom techies telling me that the the equipment/wiring installed for ADSL in my neighborhood could be the culprit in messing up my regular dial up ISP connection?

Reiterating, my office area is not wired for ADSL yet nor is Slidell, LA., where I get flawless connections. Just my home area. And obviously the 1 888 # is not ADSL.
