I am also surprised by how right-conservative this thread is. We probably have many more fiercely conservative investors posting than liberal high tech workers. I think you'd find more Libertarians libertarian.org than you think. Libertarians believe in small governments performing limited functions, believe that personal liberties are paramount, and believe in personal responsibility. The Right hates them due to their stance on personal freedoms and the Left hates them due to their belief in personal responsibility. Both hate them due to their belief in small government. An old saw that I've heard that has a kernel of truth: Gun Owner Rights receive little support because Republicans hate rights and Democrats hate guns.
