I couldn't agree more! The FOOL and all the other FOOLs that publish articles are just restating the obvious.

I have no connection with the Motley Fool, but, for those folks visiting SI for educational purposes and stock specific news, I would recommend the Fool site for education purposes. They have a lot of very good general purpose information on methods used to evaluate stocks. I think they provide a very good service.

BTW, at the outset, they say that betting on individual stocks is not a very good strategy. If you are looking for what the Fool recommends as far as stocks picks, I believe they recommend a strategy based on the Dow components - buy and hold those stocks that have the highest dividend yeild or EPS, readjusting the portfolio every so often.

Yup, its a lot less glamorous than trying to pick tech stocks based on a tech degree and the ability to understand an article in EE Times. But their simple strategy has yeilded some spectacular results.

In the end, I think the wife and kids would be a lot more impressed if I simply produced the Fool's financial result instead of explaining to them how x2 is going to take over the world and we are going to make a killing!
