A stable Indoensia as you are well aware I am sure is necessary to keep the Andaman Straits near Singapore functioning smoothly.... a critical Asian trade route....
Absolutely, but I'm also watching the Spratly Island's issue for signs of an overt challenge by China against the US and the Phillipines. Same right of navigation issue is at play there but the Chinese actually have the means to interdict ship traffic, whereas I doubt Indonesia has much capability to do so.
As for the Sudan- I am baffled. I have tieds for years to get peoples' attention on these issues, but have had minimal success....
I agree. It baffles me as well. Yet the entire African continent has been dealing with political and environmental turmoil on a grand scale for decades since decolonization.
But who would have thought that S. Africa could come as far as it has.
And as for slavery in Sudan, you might want to get in contact with Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, of Farrakhan, any one of which would likely be surprised to discover that the white man did not invent the practice.... :0)
In sum, the only solution for any of these problems is the economically develop these regions so that human beings have some semblance of hope for a better life, rather than trying to fight over every little scrap of available mineral wealth.
